Norman, Oklahoma

This gracious Queen Anne style house, built in 1900, was purchased by the city of Norman in 1971. Focusing on the history of Cleveland County from the Land Run of 1889 to Statehood in 1907, the house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

It is an architectural delight with a turret, gables, stained glass windows, carved woodwork and a curved front staircase. The furnished rooms reflect the style of a turn-of-the-century, upper middle class family residence in Territorial Oklahoma. There are a variety of programs and exhibits presented at the museum throughout the year as well as a reference library for use on-site.
